July 6, 2023: Spotify has notified premium subscribers who still pay through Apple App Store to find an alternative payment method such as PayPal or credit card. According to Spotify, the action will “help ensure that [it] can continue to provide a consistent best-in-class subscription experience for all our users.”  The company stopped accepting payment subscription fee in 2016 in order to avoid paying Apple up to 30% commission fee for in-app purchases.  Premium subscribers who continued using Apple App store to make payment were charged an additional $3 per-month.
