[[user:Aron]] Nice. Please investigate a bit more. Is this of any relevance or will it likely fail or don't have any material impact? | [[user:Aron]] Nice. Please investigate a bit more. Is this of any relevance or will it likely fail or don't have any material impact?

[[user:Aron]] Good catch. That's bad news overall. I hoped they will begin to scale down a bit.
Andrew Brosworth just became CTO in 2022 and lead the VR/AR efforts before.
I'd much rather have their old, 13 year serving CTO with his focus on AI. (1) To me Brosworth seems too enthusiastic and reminds me on Tareq Amin of Rakuten who pushed his CEO to built the first Open Ran Network in Japan. (Which is facing large problems and huge losses)
I also think the overall tone of the article is too positiv and i don't like parts like:
Over time it’s clear that mixed reality will help VR devices become increasingly compelling alternatives to laptops and desktop computers, placing virtual screens and interfaces on your desk or in your hands. It won’t be long before a VR headset is capable of emulating a powerful home computer setup, from a device that fits in a backpack and can be used anywhere. The journey toward that type of device took a big step forward with Quest Pro this year.
Here is a video of someone testing the Quest Pro for work (2) who draws the conclusion that it is not yet feasible due to issues like keyboardlocation, resolution and eye strain (Min 8:30).
can you try to find out if Meta has any plans or solution to ease eye strain over time? That was the number one issue LA and i encountered when being in VR longer than 30mins. |
